Placerville Fire Protection District
Dial 911 for emergencies.
Welcome
Welcome to the official Placerville Fire Protection District website. Find meeting and event information and discover how you can support your local firefighters.
We are located in historic Placerville, Idaho. Commissioners Joe Weiss, Janet Moore, Don Thornton, and Secretary Marie Caruso filed and recorded articles of incorporation on June 13, 2002 at the Secretary of States’ office. Placerville deeded over the property next to City Hall to the District on September 14, 1991 to build the Placerville Fire Station.
Volunteer firefighters, community members, and the Board of Commissioners continue to gather at the Placerville Fire Station for training, annual events, safety education, and Commissioners’ meetings today.

Who We Serve
Three sub-districts make up the Placerville Fire Protection District (PFPD). These stretch from the Mayflower Mine and Quartzburg to just East of Placerville and to the South to cover all of Star Ranch and the Trail Creek developments. PFPD collaborates with the Idaho Department of Lands and other fire protection districts in the area, which expands its coverage area well beyond its district boundaries.
How We Prepare
District firefighters routinely train in CPR, emergency response and structure and wildland fires. Firefighters train on multiple vehicles, varying water apparatus, and under a variety of conditions. Training is mandatory and often a collaborative effort with nearby Centerville, Thorn Creek, Idaho City, and Horse Shoe Bend Fire Protection Districts.
Hands-on experiences and a team environment help to keep skills sharp.

“Over the last two-years there’s been a huge improvement in knowledge, skill, and abilities; volunteers have gone from zero to now saving people, structures, and the community. We have a solid group of firefighters showing great leadership.”
— Chief Andrew Bourret
